Don't leave! We are constantly striving to be a great place to work and the kind of creative environment where people are happy to spend a long part of their careers. However, joining other organizations, starting your own journey, or pursuing other interests is a natural part of an organization's lifecycle. Our hope is that everyone who leaves remembers their time here with fondness. We want our people to leave gracefully, but not leave the relationships behind. To that end, we aim to make all exits as smooth as possible.
Please give us as much notice as possible. For example, if you are applying to school, we would love for you to tell us as soon as you start the application process, rather than after you've been accepted.
If you are considering interviewing for a job, please let us know before you accept an offer to start in a few weeks. We understand that this can be a difficult and unusual conversation, but we encourage you to talk to us as soon as possible. Maybe there's something we can do to address your concerns, and even if not, we won't hold it against you.
We would also like you to participate in an exit interview with your management team as part of your off-boarding process. Your feedback is very important to us, and many of the policies in this handbook have been shaped by feedback from exit interviews.
As a confirmed full-time member of our team, you are required to serve a 30-day notice period. We will try to be flexible, but this notice period helps the company find your replacement and ensures your teammates are not overburdened during your transition.
The average notice period in most companies ranges between 60 to 90 days, so it may take that long for your replacement to join.
Additionally, you are expected to provide a detailed handover to your team lead to ensure no loss of information. You are also encouraged to suggest and help arrange interviews for candidates you believe would make a great replacement.
